The main variety is Hayward, it is a fuzzy brown berry, its green flesh has a with pulp in the centre surrounded by black, edible seeds, unnoticeable in eating.


ADVICE FOR GOOD STORAGE

The Kiwi continues its ripening also after it has been picked, for this reason, if well stored, this fruit can last for several months.
In order to speed a kiwi to ripeness, you can put it in a paper bag with an apple or a banana. 

NUTRITIONAL AND ORGANOLEPTIC PROPERTIES

This fruit is very rich in Vitamin C, a kiwi contains 1.5 times the DRI for Vitamin C, for this reason it is very helpful in preventing colds and fever, in boosting the Immune System and in protecting from oxygen-related free radical damage.
The kiwi is very rich in fibre, potassium, calcium and phosphorus, that help to prevent osteoporosis.
Moreover the fibre in Kiwi is beneficial in reducing cholesterol levels, which may have cardioprotective value.
